I’ve mentioned it to people and often they look at me as if I’m crazy. I never knew of its existence until I walked past one evening with a friend and stumbled upon it.
The park is called The Cloud Gardens (or the less romantic “Bay Adelaide Gardens and the Cloud Forest Conservatory”) and it’s one of those hidden gems in an area of the city dominated by concrete, congestion and towers. Thousands of new, high-quality pictures added every day. Yet there it is in all its beauty and calm, tucked away on Richmond Street just west of Yonge behind The Bay. Cloud Garden Park at Richmond and Bay is know for its massive tiered waterfall, its monument to the "men and women who have wielded the materials of the built world" and its occasional nighttime visitors who come and leave in pairs. What better way to pay tribute to the physical labourers of yesterday and today than suck face in front of an urban monument erected in their honour? The pleasure-pun intended-can be had at a little green oasis in the middle of Toronto's downtown core.
